Introduction​

​

Modern slavery is a serious and organised crime that destroys communities and causes significant harm to victims. It is the illegal exploitation of people for personal or commercial gain, and involves people being coerced and forced into providing a service to others. It is a crime that affects people of all genders, ages (including children] and ethnicities and is a violation of fundamental human rights.

 

It is a priority for Performanta to ensure that we trade ethically, source responsibly and work to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking throughout our organisation and in our supply chain.

Organisation Structure
​

We are a provider of Cyber Security Services in the IT sector. We are part of The Performanta Croup, and its head office is based in South Africa. Performanta has over 140 employees and operates in 7 countries.

Our policies on slavery and human trafficking
​

We have appropriate policies in place that underpin our commitment to ensure that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. We continuously review and update all our policies.

 

Our Anti-slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains. We have the following policies in place relevant to modern slavery, which we continuously review and update:

Zero Tolerance
​

Performanta adopts zero tolerance to modern slavery and human trafficking, and all forms of corruption and bribery, directly and indirectly, associated with these criminal acts. While no such abuse is tolerated, an open and transparent approach is required by Performant and our suppliers, to ensure we take steps to identify and tackle any instances of modern slavery in our supply chain.

Performanta fully supports the government's objectives to eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking.

Performanta believes that everyone has a right to be treated with dignity and respect at all times and under all circumstances. Performanta's Purple Code states that everyone working for Performanta, is responsible for ensurin

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
​

Performanta recognises that it is responsible for promoting ethical business practices and policies that protect workers from being abused or exploited.

​

The prevention, detection and reporting of modern slavery in any part of Performanta or its supply chain is the responsibility of all those working for us or on our behalf. Any passholder must not engage in, facilitate or fail to report any activity that might lead to, or suggest, a breach of this policy.

​

Therefore, this policy applies to all persons working for Performanta or on behalf of Performanta, in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, agency workers, seconded workers, and contractors.

Awareness and Training
​

Performanta will raise awareness of this policy (and the Act) by notifying third parties in our frameworks, delivery partnerships and other organisations with which we regularly engage.

​

The policy will be published on the Performant website and the intranet.

​

Performanta will look for opportunities to raise awareness of modern slavery and human rights abuses throughout the Company.

​

Appropriate training and guidance will be provided.

  • Training will include how to identify the risks of modern slavery and ensure that suspected instances are handled correctly.

Performanta will maintain records of all employees who have completed modern slavery training

Assurance and Transparency
​

Performanta is committed to implementing systems and controls aimed at ensuring that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere within either administration or in any of Performanta's supply chains.
