About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our MSS Security Operations Centre team as a Cyber Security Engineer specialising in Microsoft’s cyber security solutions. The Microsoft Cyber Security Engineer will be a key MSS team member. You will be responsible for deploying, configuring and managing security solutions within the Microsoft Defender suite, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM). You will be skilled in tuning, optimising, and troubleshooting Microsoft security solutions to counter new threats, ensure smooth business operations, and establish a robust security baseline based on Zero Trust that adapts to the evolving threat landscape.

This position requires ambition, passion, and a strong desire to create top-tier Microsoft solutions. You must be driven by excellence to develop scalable solutions to detect, disrupt, and eliminate threat actors or malicious insiders from enterprise networks. You will collaborate with the broader Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Engineering, and Consulting teams to achieve this goal. You will use proprietary Attack Surface Management tools, automation, and other advanced security technologies to achieve these goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cyber security with a focus on Microsoft security products. 


  • Hands-on expertise in Microsoft Defender (MDE, MDO, MDI, MDCA, MDC), Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, PIM, and B2B access configurations (GDAP, Cross-Tenant Access, Lighthouse). 


  • Strong understanding of Windows, Azure, and M365 security architectures. 


  • Knowledge of security monitoring and compliance best practices. 


  • Experience working with Microsoft Sentinel and XDR frameworks, an advantage. 


  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, KQL, or Python, an advantage. 


  • Microsoft certifications: SC-200, SC-300, SC-400, AZ-500, MS-500, SC-100, an advantage 


  • Self-starter with great attention to detail and care about delivering high-quality work. 


  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 


  • Ability to document and explain technical details clearly and concisely, both written and verbally. 


  • A passion for tech and a specific interest in Microsoft technologies. 


  • Good customer & personal skills. Curious, innovative and a great team player.
